PhD Student in Language Science

University of California Irvine

Charles Torres is a graduate student at UC Irvine. His interests were nurtured at the University of Arizona, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with a Minor in Mathematics. But he quickly found a love for linguistics and cultural evolution exploring research in those areas with his academic mentors Dr. Masha Fedzechkina and Dr. Andrew Wedel.

He now pursues questions relating to the pressures shaping language change exploring computational models with his advisor Richard Futrell.
